PRECOMIDA is a dairy-free extensively hydrolysed soy-based formula designed for the dietary management of infants and children who have cow’s milk allergy (without soy allergy) or those avoiding animal-based formulae. PRECOMIDA is made from a mixture of hydrolysed soy proteins and individual amino acids, and is lactose free. It can be used for infants and children who have galactosaemia or for those avoiding cow’s-milk and other mammalian milk-based formula e.g. for religious, cultural or other reasons. In general soy-based formula are recommended for infants >6 months of age, although in some countries, for example in Australia, they are also recommended for younger infants. However, some infants may be allergic to soy and for those infants and children an alternative hypoallergenic formula should be used.
