comida-OAc A formula is a methionine, threonine, valine free*, low isoleucine amino acid based powdered formula containing essential and non-essential amino acids, carbohydrate, fat, vitamins, minerals, trace elements, arachidonic acid (ARA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

Food for special medical purposes.

Indications

For the dietary management of Organic Acidaemias (acidurias) such as propionic acidaemia (PA) and methylmalonic acidaemia (MMA) – vitamin B12 non-responsive; when dietary restrictions and use of isoleucine, methionine, threonine and valine free protein substitute are medically necessary.

comida-OAc A formula is suitable from birth to 12 months of age.

Recommended intake and administration

To be determined by the clinician or dietitian and is dependent on the age, body weight and medical condition of the patient.

Preparation Instructions

Wash hands well.

Sterilise bottle, teat and cap by boiling in water for five minutes. Leave covered until use.

Boil drinking water for five minutes. Allow to cool to lukewarm drinking temperature, i.e., water that feels warm on the wrist but not hot.

Pour exact amount of lukewarm water into the bottle.

Using the scoop provided, add the prescribed number of scoops of A formula to the water, levelling each scoop off with the back of a clean dry knife.

Do not press the powder into the scoop.

Shake well until the powder is fully dissolved.

Always test the temperature before feeding by shaking a few drops onto the inside of your wrist - the feed should feel warm but not hot.

Preparation Guidelines

Follow the instructions exactly and feed immediately. Incorrect preparation can make your infant baby ill.

Only prepare one bottle at a time. Use only the enclosed scoop.

The standard dilution is 14,1% (approximately 14,1g of powder made up to a final volume of 100ml water).

The standard dilution is made by adding 1 level scoop (approximately 4,7g powder) of comida-OAc A formula to 30ml of water (approximately 1 fluid oz).

Important feeding information

Any formula remaining in the bottle after 1 hour should be discarded.

Do not reheat comida-OAc A formula.

Do not heat comida-OAc A formula in a microwave as uneven heating may occur and could cause scalding.

Do not boil comida-OAc A formula.

Infants should be supervised at all times when feeding.

Regular teeth cleaning is recommended.
