comidagen is a hypoallergenic, nutritionally complete, amino acid based powdered formula suitable from birth, containing carbohydrate, fat, vitamins, minerals, trace elements, arachidonic acid (ARA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and nucleotides.

Food for special medical purposes.

Indications

comidagen is for the dietary management of cow’s milk allergy (CMA), multiple food protein allergies (MFPA) and other conditions where an amino acid based formula may be recommended from birth.

To be determined by the clinician or dietitian and is dependent on the age, body weight and medical condition of the patient.

Preparation Guidelines

Clean the area where you are going to prepare the bottle. Only prepare one bottle at a time. Do not keep any unused formula remaining in the bottle. Any unused formula remaining in the bottle should be discarded.

The standard dilution is 13,5% (approximately 13,5g of powder made up to a final volume of 100ml water).

The standard dilution is made by adding 1 level scoop (approximately 4,5g powder) of comidagen to 30ml of water (approximately 1 fluid oz).

Follow the instructions exactly and feed immediately. Unboiled water, unsterilised bottles or incorrect dilution can make your baby ill. Incorrect storage, handling, preparation and feeding can also make your baby ill.

Wash hands well.

Wash bottle, teat and cap thoroughly.

Sterilise bottle, teat and cap by boiling in water for five minutes. Leave covered until use.

Boil drinking water for five minutes. Allow to cool to lukewarm drinking temperature, i.e., water that feels warm on the wrist but not hot.

Refer to feeding guide. Pour exact amount of lukewarm water into the bottle. Using the scoop provided, add the exact number of scoops for age of baby to the water, levelling each scoop off with the back of a clean dry knife.

Do not press the powder into the scoop.

Shake well until the powder is fully dissolved. Close tin tightly after each use and store in a cool and dry place.

Always test the temperature before feeding by shaking a few drops onto the inside of your wrist - the feed should feel warm but not hot.

Use prepared formula immediately. Any unused formula remaining in the bottle after feeding should be discarded.

Do not reheat.

Do not use a microwave to prepare comidagen.

Do not boil comidagen.

Infants and young children should be supervised at all times when feeding.

Regular teeth cleaning is recommended.

Important notice

Use under medical supervision after full considerations of all the feeding options available, including breastfeeding.
